The victory of the British fleet, commanded by Sir William Hoste , over the twice-strong French fleet was the beginning of the end of French domination in the Adriatic. It is assumed that this old island variety was brought The Greeks in 397. eg. n. e. when they founded the polis of Issa on the area of ​​today’s Prirova peninsula in the bay of Vis. The specialty of this Issa lemon is not only its acidity, but also its pronounced bitterness and very thick rind, which, along with the scent of bitter orange blossom, creates a citrus gin that will refresh you on warm summer nights.
