Why has Grandpa Jure never been to the doctor?
Some say it’s because every meal started with a finger of grapevine! A finger is an old Croatian measure for brandy. It is the fruit of the powerful sun and the classic Mediterranean technology of distillation and barrel aging.

VISLANDER ORAHOVAC 0.5l, 30% alc.
Price: €16
In grandma Franka’s yard there used to be a large walnut tree. She would pick the still green fruits and soak them in grappa (rakija). Their soft insides release plenty of vitamin C and iodine, which makes walnut rakija a popular medicine for illnesses of the thyroid and intestines. Recipes for making it can be found in many monasteries and nobleman’s houses, hidden in the notes of old herb makers, but we have stayed true to grandma Franka’s recipe.
